My Advice for Beginning a New Partnership

Whether you’re just entering a partnership, dating around, or searching for a new partner, keep reading for my wisdom.

My personal mantra & my secret to creating everlasting love entering into a new relationship dynamic was this:

High engagement, low attachment. 

Be highly engaged, open, available, present, playful, and expressive in all of who you are. This allows your potential partner to really get to know you.

Not being attached to the person that you’re dating, not being stuck on the idea that this person will eventually be your partner, not being attached to receiving something from them to meet your needs.

When you show up with high engagement, we are magnetic, open, and available. You are also claiming your desire to receive love. Because you’re not attached to one story, you know that you are worthy and deserving NO MATTER WHAT.

Starting a new partnership can be a daunting experience, but it can also be incredibly rewarding. I've been fortunate to have had some amazing partnerships throughout my life, and I've learned a few things along the way.

So, here's my advice for beginning a new partnership:

Choose Your Partner Wisely

The first step in starting a new partnership is to carefully choose your partner. This is a critical decision that should not be taken lightly. You must find someone who shares your vision, work ethic, and values. It's important to work with someone who complements your strengths and can bring something new to the table.

Surround yourself with people who will lift you higher, and who inspire you to be your best. Remember, this is a partnership, so choose someone who is equally committed to the success of the venture.

Set Clear Expectations

Once you've found the right partner, it's important to set clear expectations from the outset. This means defining your roles and responsibilities, as well as your goals and objectives. Both partners need to understand what is expected of them and what they hope to achieve together.

If you don't know where you're going, you'll end up someplace else. By setting clear expectations, you can avoid misunderstandings and ensure that you are both working towards the same end goal.

Communicate Effectively

Communication is key in any partnership. You need to be able to express your thoughts and ideas clearly and listen actively to your partner's input. The key to life is communication, and partners should be open and honest with each other, even when it's difficult.

Establish regular check-ins and meetings to discuss progress and any challenges that arise. This helps to keep both partners on the same page and ensures that any issues are addressed promptly. When things fester we fight harder and longer. Nip it in the butt as early as you can and learn how to fight better and more fairly quickly. We are never not going to go through tough times but knowing how to get through it with communication is a skill that needs to be developed earlier in the relationship of it’s going to last.

Be Flexible

Finally, it's important to be flexible in your partnership. Things don't always go according to plan, and you need to be able to adapt to changing circumstances. The only thing that stays the same is change, so be open to new ideas and be willing to pivot when necessary. Again this is where my mantra comes into play the MOST - remaining open to the possibility of both of you getting your needs met in different moments staying as equally engaged for the joy of the adventure. This is truly a lifelong practice and dance that gets better and better with the right partner.

At the same time, maintain a level of consistency and reliability. Your partner should be able to depend on you to fulfill your obligations and follow through on your commitments.

Starting a new partnership is fun and also creates challenges, but with the right mindset and approach, it can also be incredibly rewarding. We all want Love.

Remember, choose your partner wisely, and set clear INTENTIONS as well as your own expectations. Make sure to communicate effectively, and honestly and be flexible.

By following these tips, you can set yourself up for success and build a strong and lasting partnership.
